hairy
Been 9 months since I have allowed anyone to take a razor to my head. My hair continues to grow, not sure i like it, but I am 75% into my 1 year without a haircut goal and I am going to finish my year come what may. My hair is finally past the point where it was eye length and strands of hair poked me in the eyes when hanging in front of my face. Now I can almost get it in my mouth so i can chew on it like a nervous school girl. The good news is since my hair has a good deal of body/curl it doesn't hang as long as it could.
What am i gonna do come the end of March? I dunno. My wish was always to go to NYC and get my hair cut by Hairstylist Nick Arrojo. He does the harido's for people on TLC's What Not To Wear and I have been really impressed with what he does to the guys on the show. Without a doubt he has made them all look much better.
So I had originally decided to book a haircut with him for my birthday in October. I called Arrojo Studios in July and he was already booked for October. So I gave up on the idea. Oh yeah, and one more thing, an appointment with him would have cost $200(now up to $300 plus any extras like hair color). I know, anything more than $20 for a haircut is crazy, but it was a wild dream. Thought it would be a great reward for loosing weight.
Well so be it. Not like I am gonna book a $300 hairdo anymore, don't get me wrong I would still love a haircut by Nick, or anyone of his caliber, but that is not gonna happen. So who will in entrust my hair too? I have no idea. Perhaps if I wait another two years I will have saved enough 'local' haircut money to afford Nick, sadly by the time I am sure his prices will go up.

Hot
Our house is freaking hot. I am not sure why. But we have yet to turn our heat on and our house is roasting. I sit around in shorts all day, I wake up in the middle of the night dripping in sweat and yes i have checked several times our furnace is off. We have been opening our windows for several hours everyday to try to let some of the heat out and some cool in. Not sure how long it will last but this is the first time we haven;t had our furnace on by late october.

Cyclone
Someone posted a sign at the end of my road(towards town) a few weeks ago. It is a hap-hazzard spray paint on plywood sign that reads tons of used pinball games available. Everytime I drive by, it brings back memories of my favorite pinball game, The Cyclone by Williams. In my teens, I used to hang out at the arcade next to Hills, a good friend of mine worked there and I would spend a few hours a week hanging out there, talking and playing pinball, my favorite game. The Cyclone was a great interactive pinball game, tons of bonuses, multi-ball action, circus theme with a working ferris wheel, very cool, very cool. (click on the link above for a picture)
I have had several dreams in my life to own that game. A few years ago when we lived on Lehman Street I saw a new business coming in on Lehman called the Game Room Warehouse and I called them and amazingly enough they had the game. This had me excited till i found out the price. To be honest for me to buy a pinball game would be irresponsible, our family is in no financial shape to justify a pinball machine purchase and if i had the money I would spend it on something else.
But since this is my blog and i can dream I thought I would share about the Cyclone. Perhaps no one else even remembers The Cyclone? I know it was pretty popular cause i saw it in jsut about every arcade in the mid to late eighties. I remember the arcade at the Boscov's Mall across from the movie theaters had one. I played it in there several times, but that arcade was a rip. (They jacked their pinball machines up too high in the back so the balls would come flying down.) No matter, I still thought it was worth a quarter to play when i was there.
Perhaps I can go in and pretend to be interested in buying it at the Game Room Warehouse in town. They might let me play it a few times. I wonder how long it would take them to figure out I am not really gonna buy it. Maybe I will find out.

Crazy
Ok, I admit it my lisfe has been crazy. In the alst 30 days I have been so busy I have not been able to take the time to type a blog. I have written dozens of blogs in my head but unfortunately they will never see the light of day. As my busy time of year winds down I hope to be able to post my thoughts again.
