DAY#197 - Hypothalamus Hypothesis
As I wrote yesterday, my hypothesis was that after a weekend of 'wild eating' (or eating above and beyond my normal) My weight would go up, but if my hypothalamus was properly set to my new weight that within 24-48 hours of 'normal' eating I would loose my excess water weight and my body would regulate itself back to its set weight. Did it work?
YES! it did. w00t! Today I was back within my normal range and actually 1lb below my LDW. So in 24 hours after my 'binge weekend' I dropped my 5lbs of weight. I must admit I was 25% worried I might have blown it but all the evidence that I read in stories from other people I was 75% sure it was gonna work for me. AND IT DID! w00t! I am very happy man today.
So do I plan on 'splurging' again this weekend? NO! I am glad I do have this super power and it is good to know that I can have a special dinner out with the family, go to a wedding or on a weekend with friends and return to normal life afterward. Should my life be a chain of crazy food eating day after day? NO, just on occasion. And from now on I am not sweating it.
I also noticed it is very hard to go from a weekend of splurge back to normal life. I found myself craving more food yesterday and it made me grumpy. So I definitely will keep this in mind the next time I plan on a weekend gone wild.
