DAY#54 - Progress Check #8
I now weigh 305.8lbs. Another 'excellent' move in the right direction! I am down 47.2lbs since I started and I am a happy about that! And as soon as I hit 299 I will celebrate with some more green on my goal page and a new picture!

I have a confession to make. Since I have been busting a groove with my weight loss I have been picking up my scale more than once a week to weigh myself. This is something I didn't want to get in a habit of, but I am weighing myself more often. I am still keeping my scale in the garage and on a shelf so I am not weighing myself 100x a day. So nowhere near where I used to be obsession wise, but not once a week. I still plan on having my official record keeping weigh in once a week and will post my results here.

This week has gone much better than last. Both Shelly & I went to the doctor this week. Her to review her blood work and me to get mine. Shelly got an great review from her doctor. All of her blood work improved greatly and the doctor is happy with her eating choices. (to be honest I helped drag her down in the first place) My blood work is at the lab but I do not see the Dr. till the second week in June so I will look forward to that.

Last night, I went out to eat with my wife for our anniversary. I took her to a nice place and out to a movie. We have not been alone for so many hours in YEARS. It was great! I was really concerned about picking the right restaurant. I wanted Shelly to have her pick of something good on the menu but I also wanted to make sure that I could still find a low fat, healthy dish.
I had read some place that some restaurants will add extra, oil, butter, flour, and sugar to dishes and sauces that you think would be good but will pack on the calories, carbs and fat.

So I called the restaurant the day in advance in the morning and talked to the manager. Explained my situation and said I was looking at a few dishes including the grilled chicken salad and wanted to know about what they may cook the meat in etc. cause I want to eat with my wife but I do not want to eat extra fat. He explained to me that even the chicken in the grilled chicken salad was seasoned and then put in a 'wash' which included extra fat & carbs. I asked if that had to be done and he told me if I asked my server it could be eliminated. I was glad I called.

(SIDE NOTE) I HOPE TO NOT BE A CRAZY VIGILANT ABOUT STUFF LIKE THIS FOREVER. BUT I DECIDED THAT BETWEEN NOW AND THE BEGINNING OF SUMMER (END OF JUNE) I WAS GONNA REALLY PUT AN EFFORT INTO DROPPING SOME WEIGHT BEFORE EASING UP. I AM SERIOUS ABOUT IT SO NO FUDGING. AFTER THE END OF THIS PERIOD I AM HOPING TO GO BACK TO THE LIFESTYLE CHANGES I MADE IN MARCH. (END SIDE NOTE)

Our night went great. The restaurant went off without a hitch. We did a little shopping and then saw a very funny movie. It was a great night!
