DAY#61 - Progress Check #9
I now weigh 296lbs. Another 'excellent' move in the right direction! I am down 57lbs since I started and I am a stoked about that! Mrs. tape measure also confirms that my body is shrinking!
So about 3 weeks ago I tried on a pair of jean shorts I had not worn for years.
I couldn't even close the button. So on Thursday night i was looking for something to wear and all my other shorts are barely able to stay on my waist without safety pinning them. So I decided to test out my 'can't even close the button shorts'. THEY FIT! and not only that if I didn't keep them around my waist they slid off :) Very good news. I plan to wear them everywhere. I also need to invest in a belt.
In the past two weeks I started reading a book and watching a video on why people over eat. Basically it described different brain types when it came to overeating and how to deal with the issues for long term success. When they started describing one of the types I was like, "THAT IS ME!" They also had an assessment test and the test also pinpointed me as that type. So I read about "fixes" for my brain and one of them was to take a supplement due to a deficiency. So i ordered it and it arrived and I started taking them.
I only have a few days under my belt, but I think I notice a difference in me already. Maybe it is a placebo effect from knowing what it is supposed to do, maybe not. Time will tell, but for now I am taking my supplements.
I will share with you the name of the book. But I am not gonna discuss the supplement out of fear that someone will read this out of context and think it is right for them. You need to do the research for yourself. So if you are interested the book is called: Change Your Brain, Change Your Body: Use Your Brain to Get and Keep the Body You Have Always Wanted.
I bought the Kindle version for $9 and read it on my computer.
There was also a 2 hour show that they run on PBS by the same name with the author speaking. Felt like an infomercial, but I enjoyed it and it made sense to me.
What it all boils down to for me is I need permanency. I need the weight I am loosing now to be a done deal. I am not going back. NO! So this book is helping me understand who I am so when it comes to maintaining I have an extra weapon in my tool belt. We shall see what happens.
