DAY#65 - Evil Dr. Gluten
I have been eating a pretty restrictive diet now for about 7 weeks. Working as hard as i can to loose weight and it is working great. One of the things I have given up 'almost' completely is bread/starch/processed carbs. I have barely used them in the last 50 days. Which has also made me gluten free.
So here is my observation. I had gone weeks without wheat/flour/gluten of any kind and decided to eat a piece of bread. WOW, within just a few minutes of downing a very small amount of bread my stomach was starving and craving more. It took me the better part of two hours to chill out afterwards. So I stopped using bread again. Several weeks have passed and I had some bread product again yesterday. AGAIN WOW, I was moody and grumpy and full of cravings for over an hour. So I have only tested this twice but I fully believe it to be fact.
Now the question is why? I ate the bread at the end of a meal and felt satisfied really before I ate it. So I was not starving or feeling hunger in any way. Is it the gluten? is it just carbs or the simple carbs? What triggered the massive hunger attack? It was crazy and whoever has answers I want to know. So for now I am back to being bread/starch/processed carb free.
PS. Our strawberries have started to ripen, I have been in sweet strawberry heaven for a few days now :)
