DAY#121 - Shelly
Behind every great weight loss is a support system of people. I happen to be lucky, i went public with my need and found over 1,000 people to get behind me. And that was extremely encouraging, but to be honest the most important person on my journey has been my wife. She quietly and patiently puts up with my crazy antics and schemes day after day. She cooks for the rest of the family while I am busy preparing my own food. She listens to me complain about the scale not moving and puts up with me gloating when it drops 3lbs overnight. She has been supportive of me spending money on some new clothing. She is a keeper.
Probably the thing I most admire about my wife for the last several months has been her own perseverance in trying to lose weight. She herself has lost about 36lbs since the beginning of the year. Slowly but surely though modifying her diet and adding in some exercise she is heading in the right direction. She is losing weight the most healthy way possible gradually and naturally 1-2lbs a week. She has done this in the light of her husband getting impatient and picking his own way to lose and also grabbing the notice and attention away from her weight loss.
When we walk into a room, I get all the attention because my loss has been accelerated and dramatic, but she deserves it cause she is the one who is slowly determined to do it right. I appreciate my overlooked wife and I am proud of her healthy weight loss.
